Armed Extremism In The Aussie Bush

Read Time:3 Minute, 58 Second

Dezi Freeman, it seems, changed his name to signify his ‘freedom’, as a ‘free-man’. Sovereign Citizens claim that they do not abide by the laws of the land in Australia. They fly the red maritime flag to show their difference and in an attempt to justify their beliefs by obscure laws of the sea. Armed extremism in the Aussie bush has reared its ugly and violent head again. Wieambilla and, now, Porepunkah will go down in the annals of cop killing events in Oz. These deranged individuals are not heroes, and their cold-blooded murderous actions are not admirable in any way.

The Sovereign Citizen Selfishness Downunder

There is a rural vs city divide in Australia, and it is being fed via the internet. America is writ large online, as it invented the thing and the divisive social media. Australians are absorbing the toxic culture of the US and its special mix of promised individual freedoms via the barrel of a gun. Individualism rather than community is the American way, as they bang on about rights rather than responsibilities. The global pandemic spooked a lot of folk, when their common freedoms were temporarily curtailed. Public health policies did not sit well with a population that had never been through a war on its soil or national disaster. Me, me, me is their number one credo.

Gun Toting Sovereign Citizens In The Bush

The trouble with a bunch of people disappearing down the rabbit hole of extremist nutjob stuff increases when some of them are heavily armed. This is Australia and we do not share the gun culture of America. Too many individuals in the bush have guns, however, and if you spout extremist stuff, like ‘I am not going to obey your laws’, then we have a problem. This is domestic terrorism, when Dezi Freeman shoots dead 2 policemen and wounds another. Wieambilla was, also, domestic terrorism. It is time to turn our attention to these disgruntled dystopian disciples who claim to be freedom fighters. You may not agree with how things are run in Australia, but you cannot threaten the rest of us with weapons on this basis. You can argue for changes to laws and go about civil methods of protest but nor can you just opt out. You are a part of a larger community whether you like it or not.

Deadly Dystopian Disciples Of Self-Centred Ideals

Armed extremism in the Aussie bush is fast becoming a deadly issue for our society and its police men and women. There are too many guns in regional areas. The internet has spread its poison to a section of our population, and they carry on like they are living in America. Wrapping yourself in the national flag does not make you a more worthy person. Claiming to be a Christian, likewise, counts for little, especially if your religious beliefs are on the extreme side of things. God is not on your side, no matter what you might be telling yourself. In point of fact, we are all in this together and we have to get along with each other. Blaming immigrants or the police is not going to make things better.

“ ‘Hunt down all cops’: Dezi Freeman fantasised for years about killing police in unearthed social media posts. A near decade of private Facebook posts, exclusively obtained by Crikey, Telegram messages and unreported Instagram comments show that Freeman posted more about his hatred of police than anything else. “

There is no place for Sovereign Citizens downunder. Perhaps, permanently moving to the US would be a good idea if this stuff rocks your boat. Emigrate to Trump’s America and see how you like it there.

Trump’s Finger Prints On The LNP Coalition

“The Trump campaign chief was in Australia advising Peter Dutton’s Liberal Party in the run up to the federal election. This answers that question about the ties between Peter Dutton and Donald Trump’s Republican Party in the US. If, as the Trump campaign chief claims, he was downunder advising the Liberal Party campaign we can observe the close links between the two organisations. Shared aspirations and ways of going about things should send alarm bells off in the minds of Australian voters. Trump campaign advised Peter Dutton in Australia regarding his bid to become Prime Minister in the 2025 election.”
