Australia lacks a progressive media platform and is overrun with right wing Murdoch lackeys calling the shots. Visiting US journalist Chris Hedges cancelled by National Press Club over fears of him challenging the pro-Zionist narrative about Gaza. There is a lack of media diversity downunder in a sector largely controlled by News Corp and Nine Fairfax. Hedges, a longtime and well respected journalist, who was a former Middle East correspondent, had been confirmed to speak at the Press Club in October. His sudden cancellation conveys the unhealthy influence that the Zionist lobby has in this country.

Many of the National Press Club presentations are televised on the ABC and this gives them a powerful platform upon which to get a message across. The fact that upwards of 70, 000 Palestinians have been killed in the IDF destruction of Gaza, mainly children and many women, has resulted in it being called a genocide by the United Nations. The corporate legacy media in Australia has consistently portrayed a one sided pro-Israeli view of the conflict over the months and years. Hundreds of aid workers and journalists have, also, been killed by the IDF during the war in Gaza. This example of a powerful elite preventing an alternative voice from speaking out to a national audience is a dark day for Australia.

Albanese Letting The Progressively Minded Down
The Albanese government is fast becoming a disappointment to many progressively minded Australians. Designs upon FOI to make it harder and more expensive to access what is going in the halls of power are starting to ring alarm bells. Maintaining decades of deals with the fossil fuel industry into the future and watering down environmental laws are further concerning trends in the Labor federal government. The longer they stay in power the more they cosy up to the oligarchs and the billionaires. It is a well-trodden downward path in Canberra.

It behoves disbelief that the first thing this Labor federal government does, after achieving its largest majority in the parliament, is to reduce transparency on the pretext of lessening the workload for public servants.”
Free Speech Curtailed By Pro-Zionist Aussie Media
Chris Hedges cancelled by National Press Club, in another example of free speech being silenced from a national stage. To say this is disappointing, during an ALP federal government, is an understatement. Australians would be well advised to pay attention to what is going on at the top. The colonial settler mentality is alive and well in Israel and the Zionists seek allies in settler nations like Australia. Stealing the land of Palestinians and treating them like less than human has been going on for decades.
