Look around at the evidence of stupid right wing culture war’s behaviours in Australia. Those on the Right champion fossil fuels like diesel and coal, despite the economic savings now available via renewable energy and batteries. Australia has spent the last 30 years facilitating the investment and development of LNG. During that same time frame, successive governments subsidised diesel use to the tune of billions every year. Australia is one of the largest exporters of LNG globally, but our transport trucks run on diesel and not on gas. Australia imports oil and diesel. Predominantly right wing federal governments have overseen the energy policies followed in Australia during this period. The trucking industry itself has long been content to stick with what it knows rather than open its eyes to realities like global warming. Surely, it would be smarter to use our own resources rather than run our essential trucking transport infrastructure on imported energy.
Right Wing Leader Trump Sends Oil Price Sky High
Right wing US President Donald Trump has, via his war with Iran, sent the price of diesel sky high globally. Already some 6 months old, the US/Israel Iran war looks set to become another forever war. The prices of everything trucked around Australia are continuing to rise sharply on the back of higher diesel costs to truckers. Truck drivers are faced with the very real challenge to find alternative energy sources to run their trucks upon. EV trucks are fast becoming more cost effective solutions to consider. Can this right wing industry get past the culture wars to see the actual lie of the land ahead? Political parties on the Right have been blinded to reality on the basis of their identity politics. Economics no longer underpins right wing policies and politics.
Culture War Covid Reaction Killed Many Thousands Of Americans
In America, we witnessed Republican party identity politics risking the lives of their own and others over Covid health policies. Mask wearing and vaccinations were weaponised during the global pandemic. Nearly a million Americans died during Covid in one of the richest countries in the world. Donald Trump was in charge at this time too. More evidence of stupid right wing culture war’s behaviours. The denial of science cost the lives of many thousands of Americans. Americans rhapsodise about individual agency and polemically denigrate collectivism. Unfortunately at times of national emergency this is a bad idea. Public health policies depend upon community action, as do wartime national policies. Individual agency must be subsumed at these times of collective crises.
Far Right Sovereign Citizens Murdering Aussies
Sovereign Citizens are another bad American idea. Their numbers swelled in reaction to strict pandemic public health policies like lock downs and mandatory vaccinations. Everybody doing their own thing is a recipe for disaster during wars and plagues. In my view, immaturity stands out in this childish reaction of denying membership of your community or country at times of collective need. In Australia, we have witnessed declared Sovereign Citizens murdering police and neighbours in cold blood. It is time to take these folk very seriously, especially as many of them are armed with guns. This is yet another far right example of extremism threatening our national values.

In America, President Donald Trump and his administration are showing the world where right wing culture war’s behaviours take us. War, killings, economic disaster, white supremacy, and shitloads of corruption. Trump is a nasty piece of work masquerading as a fool. He boasts a mob boss mentality, which has gamed the GOP and Congress. He is enriching himself and family. Selling pardons to criminals and influence to whoever is willing to pay. The international order has been undermined and world peace is on the rocks. President Trump has stripped out the guard rails from the US economy and encouraged corruption to flourish. Things do not look good.
Individual Agency Missing In One Nation Leader’s Condemnation
One Nation in Australia shares the Trump orange tinge. Leader Pauline Hanson has for 30 years denigrated those not made in her own image – First Nation’s folk, immigrants and refugees have borne the lash of her viperous tongue. Ms Hanson, despite not finishing secondary school, condemns Aboriginal Australians as the most primitive human beings on planet earth. Hanson, also, condemns all Muslims in Australia, telling us, ‘that there are no good Muslims.’ This non-expert knows, of course, despite her lack of research or study into so many pertinent areas she frequently comments upon. It is interesting how Pauline, by sheer membership of the white skinned Anglo human race, is imbued with brilliant insight, whilst First Nation’s Australians are condemned to world’s worst on the back of their shared ancestry. Where is the right wing individual agency, so celebrated, in this Hansonism?
Right Wing Legacy Media Champions Far Right One Nation
I write this, as Tony Burke, the Home Affair’s minister makes his Press Club speech regarding changes to Australian immigration policies. Right wing journalists from News Corp and Seven West Media, stamping their manosphere credentials on the carpet floor, question the Minister, obviously, desiring a stoush. It is all about the politics and its entertainment quotient for them. They are to be disappointed, as the Labor federal minister refuses to bite upon their baited questions. One calls it ‘gutless’ in his piss and wind fashion. These right wing legacy media types champion the far right party One Nation in their questioning.
One Nation has 2 seats in the federal parliament, whereas Labor has 94. One Nation’s sway is a right wing beat up. Australia’s legacy media is blatantly right wing. Billionaire media oligarchs are invariably on the side of the Right and leaders like Trump.
Conclusions
To sum up the stupid right wing culture war’s behaviours in Australia and globally. Why have we subsidised the use of imported diesel throughout the trucking and mining sectors, whilst at the same time exporting our abundant LNG? Why don’t our trucks run on LNG? Why don’t we tax LNG properly? These things cost us tens of billions of dollars every year. Who is making these decisions and are they examples of mega corruption at the top? Incompetence or corruption? Right wing governments have lost the plot when it comes to no longer basing their policies on economics or, indeed, science. Denying best public health science and global warming have already cost lives and this will accelerate dramatically in the coming months and years. Pandering to human stupidity for votes is an extinction orientated strategy. President Donald Trump represents where extreme Right politics and policies take the world. We can all see the outrageous corruption, stupidity, vanity and cruelty inherent in his governments actions. Israel is being run by the right wing Netanyahu government and genocidal wars in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran have followed. Mass killings and the destruction of an entire city in Gaza have shocked the world. Global inflation is rising, making an unaffordable world even more so. One Nation is being mooted by the right wing controlled legacy media downunder, as Australia’s answer. Really? Is putting another opinionated, stupid right wing leader in charge going to be a smart move? I doubt it Australia – get your head out of your arse! Canada is actually showing the way for middle powers to navigate the threat of Trump. Let us band together and find the middle way.
Get off American social media and tune out the Murdoch press, as neither of these loud voices offer any real solutions.
Australia Losing Its Sovereignty
“In this island nation, having lost reference to the real history of Australia, we are fast becoming an outpost of imported American culture. The internet and social media have accelerated this popular trend of decade’s standing. Kids grow up with their head’s immured in American entertainment offerings. Pop music, movies, streaming content, US sports, and, these days, the Donald Trump show in Washington DC. YouTube, Tik Tok and the other platforms serve up news and entertainment 24/7. Most of this is predominantly American. Our government has ceded our military security and effective sovereignty to the US, via the very expensive AUKUS deal ($368 billion) for nuclear submarines promised some time in an unlikely future. Australia gets to provide military bases to the US and pay large sums toward their naval ship building programs over many years in the hope of realising 2 used subs of our own. In the meantime, we must behave well according to American geopolitical expectations or risk being punished for it. The inference being – no submarines for an Australia, which does not toe the line.”
