Much of what President Donald Trump is doing is not new in United States’ terms. Indeed, you can categorise it as another chapter in the South vs North civil war. Remember what flags flew in the hands of the January 6 violent protesters as they broke into the Capitol. The stars and bars were proudly displayed numerous times on that day. Under Trump the South rides again. Armed militia claiming to be patriots smashed up property and bashed in the heads of police protecting Congress. The Trump revisionism of that day cannot truly hide the scars and deaths incurred on that rebellious occasion. Hang on, didn’t the Right campaign on the evils of cancel culture??? Donald Trump and MAGA banged on about those on the Left limiting free speech. Now, in power the Trump regime is using its authority to effectively stifle Liberal comediennes like Jimmy Kimmel and getting the Late Show cancelled. Trump’s nutjob cabinet are threatening all and sundry with arrest for saying stuff they do not agree with. The hypocrisy of Trump is heinous. They are using this bogus antisemitism false flag to attack academics and students in US universities. Those on the Right and in the Trump regime are discarding adherence to the law, as a fundamental of government.
