Baby Boomers have grown up under the misapprehension that the United States of America was there for us. A generation of Australians have grown up weak on this basis. When exactly has the US come to our aid since WW2? The answer is never. On the other hand, how many times has Australia answered the call from America? Korea, Vietnam, The Gulf War, Afghanistan, Iraq and Pine Gap of course. Australians have learned to see our subsidiary role to the US as payment in advance for any serious threat upon our shores. ANZUS was invoked after 9/11 and for the invasion of Afghanistan.
“The Australia, New Zealand, United States Security Treaty (ANZUS or ANZUS Treaty) is a collective security agreement between Australia, New Zealand, and the United States that was signed in 1951.”

Australia Must Wake Up To The New Reality Of Trump’s America
Donald Trump is changing all that via his unreliable and chaotic presidency. No agreement or international contract is safe, as we have seen regarding all these economic tariffs in contravention of signed free trade agreements by the United States. Trump’s word is not to be trusted. The rules based order is crumbling under the outlandish behaviour of the Trump regime. Australians need to regather themselves and have a reality check as per 2025. There is no big daddy going to save us and there never really ever was. All nations look after themselves, first and foremost.
Australia’s American Delusion Of Security
A generation of Australians have grown up weak. Lived under a false impression that a superpower would always come to their aid in times of trouble. The truth about America is much more nuanced and far less comforting. In both World Wars, the United States was a reluctant and late entrant into the fray. Britain was being bombed the shit out of before the US directly came into the war after the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. That war began in 1939. The Americans were even later to the big dance in WW1. Australia, in contrast, joined both of these defining global 20C wars right at the start, of course.
America First & Nazis
Many people may not know that there was a considerable body of Americans who wished to, not only stay out of the Second World War, but if pressed to fight, to come in on the side of Nazi Germany. These folk under the banner of America First and the leadership of Charles Lindbergh saw things very differently from most Australians.
“Germany invaded Poland five months later, drawing Britain and France into the war. Two weeks later, Lindbergh delivered his first nationwide radio address in which he urged America to remain neutral. In the speech he criticized President Roosevelt, who believed the Nazis must be stopped in their conquest of Europe. Lindbergh saw Nazi victory as certain and thought America’s attention should be placed elsewhere. “These wars in Europe are not wars in which our civilization is defending itself against some Asiatic intruder… This is not a question of banding together to defend the white race against foreign invasion.” Building on his belief that “racial strength is vital,” Lindbergh published an article in Reader’s Digest stating, “That our civilization depends on a Western wall of race and arms which can hold back… the infiltration of inferior blood.” “
America is very good as crafting its own stories and promoting those at the expense of the actual facts. America First and Make America Great Again (MAGA) the parallels are there. Both movements are isolationist and were, or are, led by celebrities with white supremacist tendencies. It is well worth digging into this further for your own education about things.
There is no denying that the US WW2 war effort, once established, was critical to the allies victorious result. There are enough Hollywood movies celebrating this to fill vast libraries. The important thing to note is that it was not a united front re-the American people to head in this direction and that those Nazi tendencies remain within the USA in pockets around the place, especially in the south. We are seeing their re-emergence now under Donald Trump’s presidency. You cannot ignore centuries of slavery and the deep cultural roots that has within a population. Racism and segregation remain major issues within America today.
Extreme Cruelty In Trump’s America
So, what if your projected saviour is a nation that contains white supremacists and extreme Christian Nationalists capable of gross acts of cruelty? What do you about that if you are a democratic nation like Australia that believes in the rule of law for everyone? How do you come to terms with the brutal and constitutionally illegal actions of ICE in Trump’s America? Do you just look away? Does your government of elected representatives pretend that this shit is not happening? Because they have put all their chips in on AUKUS? Seems like that is the case. A generation of Australians have grown up weak, believing that the all powerful United States would be there for them. In reality, in the real geopolitical world, it is every nation for themselves, when push comes to shove. America likes to sew fears about China to anybody who will listen and, especially, to Australia. Fears of the yellow peril have long bubbled beneath the surface of Anglo-settler nations. Racial difference is never truly far from the fears of white men and women. Who is to say that after centuries of being treated as ‘the other’ that China will not act accordingly? If you see the world in a certain way and behave on that basis, you create that reality for yourself.
PM John Curtin & Australian Independence
Australia needs to regain its independence of thought and action. You know, when PM John Curtin was faced with the Brits not being able to hold their end up in the Asia Pacific during WW2, there was no guarantee about being saved by the Americans. He had to tough that out, as did the rest of the country. In truth, we are better off holding to that mentality, than believing in Santa Claus and an ever reliable USA. We would be best served by dropping the belief that as an Anglo-settler people that others of our kind will come and save us, on that basis. It is a false premise. It breeds, not only weakness, but a strange kind of arrogance, like the little kid in a fight always hoping that big brother will turn up.
Israel & America

Look at the Israelis, they are the tail wagging the dog, in their relationship with America. Zionists have bought the American political system to do their bidding. Jeffrey Epstein is in that dark mix somewhere too, with sexual blackmail, spies and the trafficking of young girls for favours. I am not suggesting this as a model for Australia, but it differs somewhat from our puppy dog like behaviour over the last 70 odd years. We have Zionists buying influence downunder too and throwing their weight around in the law courts threatening suits and libels.
You know, there are Australians in positions of power who owe their status to others. Allegiances and the like are the nature of politics. In a more independent Australia, which stands on its own two feet or 54 million feet, we, the people need to know who is pulling the strings. I definitely do not have all the answers, but I do have plenty of questions. In my view, we all need to be asking more questions about the nature of power downunder. We require more honest reviews of government decisions. It is not about getting on and quickly doing stuff, it is much more important to ascertain WTF is going on?
A generation of Australians have grown up weak and we need to rediscover our independence on the world stage. Stop listening to those who promote the status quo, because, you know, things have changed. We live in a geopolitical world requiring a new set of guidelines. The older order is over folks. Australia can stand up for itself in 2025 and beyond. It will take smarts and independent thinking, but we can do it.
Bullies Pick On The Weak

“Have you noticed that Donald Trump always picks on soft targets. Trump has sent in a huge naval aircraft carrier to threaten Venezuela with, after illegally blowing up Venezuelan speedboats in international waters. Yes, he claims they are drug smugglers but no evidence has been provided to prove it. Trump is trash talking Canada and applying onerous tariffs in defiance of a free trade agreement he signed with them. Canadians are notoriously known as nice people throughout the world. The Trump regime’s ICE agents are heavily armed. These masked bullies are beating up on immigrants and Americans with brown skin.”

What Price Life? Why is everything so expensive? Is the new book by Robert Sudha Hamilton. Putting on his economist hat to do justice to explaining the prevailing headwinds we all face in the current climate. It appears that living is becoming prohibitively expensive and this is not happening by accident. There are sections of our population who are hell bent on stealing your lunch or at least making it too bloody pricey. We are supposed to be living in a democracy but it is actually a 2 speed economy. Many of us are getting left behind, when it comes to the wealth stakes. What can we do about it?
